dandelion heart

I walked around the city and found the pieces
that blew away when you left
I got one from the burger shop, the karaoke
bar and the club where the guy got stabbed.
the last stuck to the bathroom stall where I cried after you said
‘I can’t offer you
any more’

the memories fell like flower petals
pressed in my diary, dry
and dead
still with the faintest smell
